Musings on what it means to be prepared

a prudent person keeps an eye on whats happening around them and prepares for any eventuality
sage advice , but what exactly does that mean? those that live in areas prone to natural disasters can probly answer this better , but to me, it means be ready for any eventuality , Fema has lists of things people should do to be prepared and to survive periods of time when normal services may be interrupted. That might be a good place to start , having a personal plan for eventualities if they should ever happen. One can take further steps if they feel they need to and add and subtract from basic lists , but the fundamentals of shelter food water and security must always be thought out. remember , not everyone may have the foresight to have a plan , and the last thing you will want is to be caught, having to share what you have set aside for yourself and family.and those that don't plan , will revert to basic instincts for survival, be it at the government assistance station , or on their own.Having a personal survival plan is paramount , it wouldn't be a bad idea to have a group survival plan with your neighbors either, think those of like mind , that will give you a group effort to get things back to normal as soon as possible. i figure this is just food for thought , remember a person that fails to plan ,plans to fail, do you want to be one that needs help or one that can help?
What do you think?
